Heart Dreams

I am walking out under a late afternoon sky when a blood-red, heart-shaped balloon catches my eye as it rises from somewhere nearby. It appears to flutter like a drowsy bird. I look up and see more~ heart-shaped balloons in every shade from deep maroon and ruby to palest rose, even clear. It's not a crowded sky, but everywhere as far as I can see to the horizon, they're swaying gently in the early evening breeze. They move with seeming intention on an invisible tide, a community of lovers. A bell rings deep in my heart and I'm suffused with a slow easy joy.

This is a snippet from the dream I had right before I woke up this morning. That slow and easy joy? Still wearing it in my cells like the sweetest hug....
